"I wouldn't call THE REAPER a
conventional horror novel,
not by mod standards, but it
is an entertaining read, full of
atmosphere and a cool bad
guy (s). The narrative made
me recall different styles,
somewhat Lovecraftian (but
with better dialogue and not
the droning musty or ultra
wordy prose) and
claustrophobic at times. Tight
and to the point, Joe's voice
is clear. It gets one into the
tale right off. I'd recommend
this to anyone in the genre
and look forward to seeing
what Joe does in the future."

"When I first read the back of
this book and saw that it was
compared to Clive Barker, I
just had to grab it up. Sure
enough, it delivered! This
was a great story from up-
and-commer, Joseph McGee
'who, as internet has it is
doing great things and is
sure a rising star in horror
literature'. I highly
recommend this book to
anyone that likes a good
scare!

I heard Joseph McGee on a
Blog Talk Radio show and it
got me interested into why
people are praising him just
for being 23 years old. After
reading Reaper, I can see
why. His characters come to
life, much like Dean Koontz
does, and his story elements
are a literary wonder. I wasn't
a real horror or thriller fan
until I read Reaper. Now I'm
expanding, and trying to get
a hold of anything that
McGee has written. Highly
recommend it!

After finding Mr. McGee's
MySpace page and reading
the wonderful reviews, I
decided to order The Reaper
and was utterly surprised at
how wonderful and original it
really was. After reading a lot
of supernatural-horror
stories, I can say that this is
among the best of the best
The Reaper really pulls no
punches. I highly recommend
this story! And I can' t wait to
read his new novel, Snow Hill.
