| In the Wake of the Night |
Chris Walsh hates going to sleep. Unthinkable monsters lurk through the shadows of slithering evils, tormenting his soul. He sees things that would make the strongest man shiver himself into a death: the bowls of Hell.
Once his estranged girlfriend is abducted by a once psychotic doctor brazen in the depths of the underworld, it is up to Chris to save her. Along this journey is Emily, a fourteen year old dead girl sent by the Powers That Be to change history for the better against the Lord of the abyss: Hades.
A Stunning, Fast-Paced Debut - Starred Review
Joseph McGee is an all around talent. He has excellent control of pacing, mood, environment, and especially, dialogue. Man, what an ear for how people really speak! Even if he hadn't written an incredibly believable, incredibly scary book, the way his characters speak would have made this book worth the cost of admission.
I also loved how the pages just seemed to slip through my fingers. One minute, I'm sitting on my couch, just beginning the book, and before I know it, it's three hours later and I'm done, breathless from the fast-paced ride.
This is Joseph McGee's first book, but it's no freshman effort. The prose is controlled and polished. You're really gonna like this guy.

Joseph McGee's In the Wake of the Night is the perfect tale of mystery and suspense. This first-time author hit it on the mark with this novel. Get ready for mind-blowing suspense, mystery and a good read. This story takes place in the mid-1980's and then brings you up to current times with this unbelievable story. I highly recommend this novel for any fan of suspense and mystery.

I've seen this guy in 6 magazines over the past six months with short stories and interviews. He's getting huge--and he's only 21 years old. This is an amazing story with a major twist at the end, but I won't tell you what it is. This is worth the money, and the author is as nice as they come. I met him at a Barnes and Noble signing and he was very nice to talk with, and he's a great writer! You need to pick up this book!

From newcomer, Joseph McGee comes an exciting tale of suspense and horror as one man takes on the Underworld in hope to save his girlfriend and the souls of dozens of children at the same time. This book reads smoothly as any novel could, and though in the middle it throws you off a bit, it puts your back on track with an explanation. It's a great book to bring home.
